A rabbit doesn’t care about
Who the president is,
What disease is going around,
The latest controversy,
The state of the economy,
Or cancel culture.
A rabbit does care about
Tender green grass
Choice lettuces,
Keeping perfectly still,
Hiding from danger,
Having lots of babies
It’s tempting to envy
Their simple little lives,
And their cute bunny tails –
But they are soulless,
And food for owls.
