Wednesday, September 28, 2022 Pause for Providence Place

I’m sure you’re all starting to feel a sort of “hiking-post” fatigue. I know I am! So here’s the next page of my project, “A Year at Providence Place.”

What a challenge this project has been for me! But I am enjoying the challenge. The thing down in the bottom right is supposed to be a bit of honeycomb dripping honey. Oh well…

I’ll probably delete this when my blog has o’er-brimmed its clammy cells.

  1. I think Kris has a good point: it is a joy to read your pages- spread the joy (put it in a book and sell it- you know we will be waiting in line…we already are)!
We have a bountiful apple harvest this year! We’ve never had so many, large, crisp, largely free from bugs. If you are in the neighborhood, I can give you a bag of apples if you would like some more. One tree’s apples are good for sauce and pies, the other for crunching. Actually, both trees offer apples that are great for an afternoon snack. Reading your blog also reminds me of the bees that like our apples! We also have ground bees- good for pollinating but not so good for Pluto when he retrieves his frisbee near the tree trunk! Were your apples from trees you own, or did you take a trip to a local orchard?

    1. We have two apple trees that both produced really well this year: zestar and honeycrisp. We get lots of wasps around the apples that have fallen or are partially rotten in the tree. I processed a lot of ours but saved a bunch of the honey crisp for eating!
