You’ve probably always wondered, as I have, where old canoes go when they’re past their prime. Old stallions get put out to pasture; old canoes get made into large planters. This is the way.

The first glimpse of frost. Just when the heart and soul were tiring of extended hot weather, the Lord sent the first sign of the coming extended cold. Everything in its time.

What an intricate piece of artwork a feather is! Airplanes can fly (in imitation of birds), but their plumage is a monstrosity compared to the delicate workings of these things that help keep birds aloft. “And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, and after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind; and God saw that it was good.”

Hello, beautiful flower with the many yellow arms! I see you waving at me and I am grateful for the attention.

Hello, spritely young goat with the quizzical look on your face! I speak to you as a spritely old goat with a similarly quizzical look on my face.

A day is almost spent – you can tell by the happy sigh as the sun starts to set.
The blog is almost deleted. You can tell by the happy sigh.
l like the idea if a canoe planter. I’d have to find an abandoned canoe first though! The sunflower picture is beautiful. I’m not quite ready for the frost yet! It’s coming though. Stay warm and safe and watch out for those goats. They aren’t too trustworthy ❤️

So … you’re telling us that you are not a southern California kind of gal, eh? But I’m in agreement. As a Minnesotan, something feels not right when it’s blue sky sunny weather day after day. (And my parched lawn, trees, and shrubs would agree.)

I love having four seasons, although I will admit to getting season fatigue at the end of summer and winter. I don’t think I’d move anywhere for the weather. Family and friends are far more important! ❤️
