Tuesday, November 7, 2023 Right Before Goodbye

I was just looking through photos from our time out West and was charmed to revisit some that our lovely daughter-in-law took of us with the kiddos right before we left.

Children are so huggable and kissable. Look at those cute little feet! The chubby cheeks! Oh my, do I miss them. I often have to reign in the emotions when we have these goodbye moments. It makes me realize that my mom must have had to to do the same thing when she and dad would visit during the time we lived far away from them. How different the perspective is between the ones who stay and the ones who drive away.

The apostle Paul spoke to Timothy about his grandmother: “I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you.”

I’d love to have a cozy chat with Timothy’s Grandma Lois – I bet she has storehouses of wisdom to share about being a godly grandma.

I’ll be deleting this in the morning, right before goodbye.
